August 28, 2016 in Astana was held an enlarged meeting of the Republican Council of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan on maternal role of the Councils in strengthening Kazakh identity and social harmony."

The event was attended by Deputy Chairman of the Assembly – Leonid Pitalenko, Head of the Secretariat of the APK, President's Administration - Nazipa Idrisovna Hashanah, the deputies of the Majilis - Zagipa Yahiyanovna Balieva and Natalia Zhumadildaeva APK members, government representatives, regional councils APK mothers ethnocultural associations, non-governmental organizations and the media.

During the meeting were discussed main directions of activity of the Councils of mothers and their interaction within the Council of Public APK consent, participation in solving urgent problems of regions, strengthening Kazakh identity and national unity.

The event was held due to the 25th anniversary of the closure of the Semipalatinsk nuclear test site and is devoted to the role of the First President of Kazakhstan, Leader of Nation N.A. Nazarbayev in maintaining global security.

Following the meeting, the mothers of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan appealed to the people of Kazakhstan to support the Manifest "Peace. XXI Century" and the peace initiatives of the Leader of the Nation N.A. Nazarbayev.
