Under this name, a round table was held in the Kostanay Regional Friendship House with the participation of representatives of ethno-cultural associations, members of the scientific and expert group, the Mothers Council, the regional Council for Public Consent of the Regional Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan and representatives of the media.

Prior to the event in the lobby of the House of Friendship, employees of the State Archives of Kostanay oblast organized a thematic exhibition "Til - ylttin zhani", where the participants of the round table could see copies of archival documents telling about the transition from Arabic into Latin, from Latin to Cyrillic at 20-40 -th years of the last century.

- The transition from Cyrillic to Latin alphabet is a historical event for the entire country, for all Kazakhstanis regardless of ethnicity, because we live in a single large family," noted in her speech the doctor of philology, professor, member of the scientific-expert group OAPK Maryash Kadralinova. - No one should remain aloof from the coming changes, because this is a new milestone in the history of our independent, sovereign country that aspires to enter the 30 most developed and successful states of the world. Of course, the very process of transition will be a phased, systemic one. We must understand that this is a strategically important stage for all of us.

- The transition to the Latin alphabet will raise the status of our country and raise competitiveness in the global community, which is dominated by Latin - said the teacher of the Kazakh language KGU im.A.Baytursynova, a member of the Regional Council of mothers Akzhan Altybaeva. - With the new script, we did not lose the specifics of the Kazakh language, on the contrary, it will make it more recognizable in the spoken and literary space.
