July 7, 2017 in the city square in front of the building of Akimat of Astana within the cultural and entertainment program of the exhibition "EXPO -2017" the traditional Tatar festival "Sabantuy" was held.

The event was attended by Deputy Chairman - Head of the Secretariat of the ANC AP Darkhan Mynbay, members of the ANC, representatives of the state bodies of the Republic of Tatarstan, ethnocultural associations, media, guests and residents of the city.

As part of the event, a competition was held on the national Tatar struggle "Kәrәš" and an exhibition of national dishes of ethnic groups of Kazakhstan.

The holiday "Sabantuy" has long been included in the calendar of the most important events of many Turkic peoples. Today it symbolizes not only the original meaning of the celebration of the end of the spring tribulation, but also the desire to preserve the richness of the culture of the people, the native language, cordiality and hospitality, contributes to the unification of people of different nationalities and religions.

"Sabantuy" is listed in the list of masterpieces of UNESCO's cultural heritage.
