VI Republican festival of Ukrainian arts and crafts held in Astana

 
Within the framework of the 20th anniversary Assembly of People of Kazakhstan and the Days of Kazakh culture in Ukraine, the capital has hosted VI Republican festival of Ukrainian arts and crafts. Musical compositions in the official and Ukrainian languages have sounded on the stage of Zhastar Palace. Creative teams from 12 regions of the country have come to the capital.
 
Yury Timoschenko, chairman of “Council of the Ukrainians of Kazakhstan” (“Рада украинцев Казахстана”):
“In accordance with the Letter of the President, we’ve held the anniversary session, and the slogan of todays event is “One nation, one country, one destiny”people from regional centers will appear of the stage, cultural associations of almost all regional centers, both Ukrainian and Kazakh songs will be performed, and Ukrainian arts and crafts will be shown”.
 
In addition to the festival, applied art exhibition “Як не любити менi цю землю!” (“I like nothing as much as this land!”) has been held. All national part of the Ukrainian people was demonstrated there. According to cultural centers, all embroidery patterns, crafts and paintings are hand made.
 
Larisa Avdeeva, head of the creative club “Charivnitsa” (“Чарівниця”)                             (Ust-Kamenogorsk):
“We are engaged in music, embroidery and language studying. Every nationality has this opportunity thanks to the wise policy of our President. We can preserve our culture, develop it and have rest at the same time”.
 
It’s worth noting that the festival was held in order to widen cooperation and strengthen friendly connections between the fraternal peoples. As is known, currently approximately 350 000 Ukrainians live in Kazakhstan, who contribute to formation of national unity in the country and establishment of the republican independence.
