Yesterday in the concert hall of the Metropolitan Palace of Schoolchildren named after M. Utemisov the ceremony of awarding the winners of the city contest "Birlik zharshisi" among journalists of the mass media of the city of Astana took place.

The organizer of this event was the Assembly of the people of Kazakhstan, Astana. The purpose of this event is to promote the development of Russian journalism through the encouragement of journalists who publish materials on an inter-ethnic topic.

The city competition "Birlik zharshisi" is special because it is held for the first time. The materials of the competition, dedicated to strengthening interethnic harmony and unity, are aimed at strengthening the image of the Institute of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan, promoting the culture of ethnic groups living in Kazakhstan. To participate in the competition, articles were taken on the socio-political life and achievements of the ethnocultural associations of the capital. Journalists from all media outlets of the capital were invited to participate through Internet resources, in the following, according to the requirements of the Regulations, the contest commission selected 10 materials out of 23 received.

Abduali Ayan, correspondent of the online edition of the republican newspaper "Egemen Kazakhstan" was awarded for "The best publication in print media", the material dedicated to the celebration on May 1, 2017, was recognized as the best radio news, the author of which is "Radio Astana" leading - Akhmetov Akbota.

Materials of the winners of the city competition "Birlik zharshisi" will be sent for participation in the Republican competition in the field of journalism "Shanirak".
