On the 26-th of May, 2017 in the building of the "Almaty Union of Trade Unions" the Republican Methodical Cabinet of Mediation of the RSU "Public contracts" under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan jointly with KSU "Public contracts" of the Mayor of Almaty city conducted a workshop on "The Role of Mediation in Strengthening Public Accord and Unity".

Moderator: Altekova Nursaule Abdikadirovna - head of the Republican Methodical Cabinet of Mediation of the RSU "Public contracts" under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The seminar was attended by representatives of the republican and urban ethno-cultural associations, mediation, entrepreneurs and employees of the institution.

The aim of the seminar was to explain the role of mediation in preserving the unity of the people and the consent in society. For the participants of the seminar the speakers reviewed the main problems and issues of mediation, as well as explained the methods of solving conflicts arising in the society through mediation.

Opened and hosted the event Altekova N.A. She spoke about the importance of mediation in maintaining peace in the community, preventing conflicts and settling them, explaining the importance of mediation in today's fragile relations and citing examples of mediation application in foreign and Kazakhstan practice.

She also spoke about the importance of modernizing the spiritual consciousness of the society, the role of which was particularly emphasized by President in her article "Looking into the Future: Modernizing Public Consciousness". To date, the modernization of public consciousness has a special importance for the people of Kazakhstan. Altekova N.A. noted that the spiritual modernization of Kazakhstan is dictated by the shortage of humanism and universal values ​​that have developed in the modern world. It is very important to protect the consciousness of our citizens, especially young people, from the negative tendencies of globalism, which also have a detrimental effect on the unity of the people.

All speakers noted the important role and practical benefits of mediation in resolving conflicts in society, as well as the growing need for mediation in preserving the unity of the people of the Republic of Kazakhstan. At the end of the event, all participants were awarded certificates of participation in the seminar.
