Yesterday, the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan in South Kazakhstan region within the framework of the republican campaign "Day of mediation" organized an open day in the"Қoғamdyқ kelіsіm" mediation office.

Open Day was held with the participation of judges, retired judges, heads of mediation centers, government officials, heads of regional ethno-cultural associations, chairmen and vice-council of public consent.

The purpose of this event was an explanation of the objectives aimed for the development of mediation services in the region, promotion of mediation as an alternative way to solve disputes and conflicts, supporting the development of the interaction between mediators and local government agencies, as well as, civil institutions, explaining the effectiveness of conciliation procedures in dealing with differences and disputes, to inform the local population about the progress of the centers of mediation and mediation offices of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan.

During the event judges and professional mediators conducted public consultations and gave legal advices to local residents.

To date, at regional administration, urban and rural akimats there are106 mediation offices.

According to the statistics developed by the district and equivalent courts in the first half of this year mutually solved procedures were applied in 770 civil cases.
