Festival of the Chuvash culture

In the city park of culture and recreation of Pavlodar city on August 20, the festival "We Live in a Single Family" was traditionally held, this time the Chuvash national and cultural center showed its culture, traditions and customs. The holiday gathered many guests and spectators of the city. The audience could see and hear not only the Chuvash songs and dances performed by the vocal group "Sespel", but also to taste the food of the national cuisine.

 "Today in the city hall we celebrate the day of the Chuvash culture. In the program we have not only Chuvash, but also Russian, Kazakh songs, because we live in Kazakhstan and need to know not only their language, but also the state language. Observing the traditions of the Chuvash people, today we will treat the spectators and guests of the holiday with a national pie and pies with various fillings, which are prepared exclusively for the holiday, "said the chairman of the Chuvash ethno-cultural association, Elena Ivanovna Safronova. Also with words of congratulations was the organizer of the center, guest from Chuvashia, a member of the Chuvash national congress, professor, doctor of philosophical sciences, Fedotov Vasily Artemyevich. He noted the importance of this event and told about the first initiatives of the center, about how more than 20 years ago the center and creative teams were formed, and wished the members of the ethnocultural association success and prosperity.

In 1995, at the time of the formation of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan, about 2,000 Chuvashes lived in the region. The Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan helped to unite the Chuvashes living in the territory of Pavlodar Priirtyshya into one large family and now it helps them to revive and preserve the culture, language and the best traditions of the Chuvash people.

Each people has its own traditions and customs, which are expressed in national clothes, national cuisine. Chuvash cuisine has more than one hundred years. If you stay in the kitchen of the Chuvash people, it is worth noting Chuvash soup with meat or fish broth with seasonings (in Chuvash language - yashka), soup with dumplings (shurpa). Very widely distributed were various cereals: pea, buckwheat, oatmeal. And wheat porridge was in ancient times a Chuvash ritual dish. Also with special respect, the Chuvash were concerned with bread. Usually it was rye. Without bread, one can not imagine a Chuvash meal. It does not matter - ordinary or festive. Bread was considered sacred food, it could be cut only by the head of the family or the most senior representative.

And for those who came not only to see, but also to participate in the festive event, a quiz was organized on knowledge of history, state symbols, national clothes and cuisine of the Chuvash people. The most active participants were awarded prizes.

The holiday ended with an incendiary dance for the national Chuvash music.
