November 17, 2017 in Almaty, at the Kazakh National University. al-Farabi IIII International Media Forum of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan "Openness of Consciousness" was held.

The purpose of the Forum is to discuss the role of the media in the spiritual modernization of society and the formation of open consciousness, the strengthening of national identity, issues of professional ethics, and the development of media culture in a multi-ethnic society.

The forum was opened with a welcoming speech by the Deputy Chairman of the APK - the head of the secretariat D.Mynbay, the vice-minister of the Ministry of Information and Communications A.Azhibaev, the rector of KazNU G.Mutanov.

Members of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, APK members, government officials, experts from Germany, Latvia, Russia, Uzbekistan, domestic experts in the field of the media, members of the APK, representatives of national and regional media, ethno-cultural associations, faculty members took part in the event. In his opening remarks, Darkhan Mybai noted that true cooperation is based on pragmatic and strategic considerations, political alliances and associations, the modern mass media cooperate, concluding partnership agreements, exchanging information and content, holding joint forums, creating creative unions.

As an example, that the journalistic community is consolidating more and more, the deputy chairman called the Eurasian Media Forum, "Kazakhstan Media Alliance". He expressed confidence that the mass media, published by ethnocultural associations of the APK, will not be excluded from this process.

The plenary meeting of the Media Forum was held in the format of the TEDx conference, where speakers were foreign experts Konstantin Shamber (Germany), Kirill Privalov and Robert Frantsev (Russia), Vladimir Reshetov (Latvia), Gulnora Abdunazarova (Uzbekistan), and well-known representatives of the domestic media Yerlan Igisinov , Armanzhan Baitasov, Aigul Mukey, Orken Kenzhebek and Mahabbat Esen.

Within the framework of the Forum an exhibition of media of ethnocultural associations was held. At the end of the Forum was held a solemn ceremony of summarizing the annual art contest of the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan in the field of journalism "Shanyrak".
