In the city park of culture and leisure in the framework of the festival "We Live in the Family of One", a melon festival was held. Traditionally, it takes place at the end of August, because it is by this time that sweet fragrant melons start to ripen. The organizers of the event were the Tajik ethnocultural association "Sitorai Somon". The program of the holiday included interesting contests for adults and children, as well as quizzes and a bright concert program.

The holiday began with the sounds of the national musical instrument karnaya. Also on this day, residents of the city learned a lot of interesting things about melon, because it is not only a sweet dessert, but also useful, its medicinal properties are noted by physicians. In sunny Tajikistan, it is called the "fruit of happiness" - in the melons of the melon culture there are substances that help the production of serotonin - the "happiness hormone", and in the east they say that the melon makes the hair shiny, the eyes of the young men are strong, the women are beautiful. The native land of melon, belonging to the family of pumpkin, is Asia.

The culture of the Tajiks is an elegant and calm Eastern world outlook. At all times, Tajiks were committed to creation and creativity, science and enlightenment, revered independence and good-neighborly existence, keeping pride and steadfastness, like mountain peaks.

The cuisine of Tajiks is famous all over the world. Tajik national cuisine is very diverse, with dozens of different kinds of dishes: meat, dairy, flour, vegetable, and of course, one of the main national dishes of the Tajik people is pilaf. Therefore, in honor of the holiday, Tajik cooks, right in the meadow of the city recreation park, unfurled a dastarkhan and cooked a huge cauldron of pilaf. With this oriental dish and aromatic melons, all the guests were treated.

Chairman of the Tajik ethnocultural association "Sitorai Somon" Husain Shohmamadovich Gulov congratulated all Pavlodar residents on this holiday and handed prizes and certificates to the active participants of the association.

What a holiday without contests and entertainment? In the game "Who faster to eat a melon in a minute" the participants got a chance to enjoy the taste of a ripe and fragrant melon, dexterity and accuracy were measured in the game "Darts", and the strongest ones were determined in the contest "Raise a watermelon".

Also in honor of the melon festival, Yakub Jabinov, the choreographic ensemble of the House of Friendship under the direction of Nurlan Bekov, presented the audience with beautiful and incendiary Tajik dances with musical congratulations.
