November 12th, 2015 held the II International media forum of the Assembly of people of Kazakhstan “Beititshilik pen kelisim madeniety”. The goal of the forum was to discuss the issues of strengthening and developing the Kazakhstan identity and unity, enhance the competitiveness of the domestic media, promotion of Kazakhstan’s model of social cohesion and national unity of Nursultan Nazarbayev.

At the panel discussion in the printed media:

“Media culture in the context of public consent”

Supported the proposal to make changes and additions in the Law of mass media – to prohibit by law an indication of ethnicity of the participants of conflict situations (criminal, domestic) on media coverage.  
The need to introduce a new term – ethnomediaculture.
Supported the proposal of the Latvia columnist V. Reshetov about developing the Codex of ethnojournalist.
Promotion of the Kazakh culture, not only in the Kazakh language, but also in all international languages.

At the panel discussion for electronic media:

“Journalist – mediator: opportunities and prospects”

Participants of the session supported the Assembly of people of Kazakhstan – as the main mediator in the sphere of interethnic relations.
There is a need to organize an educational seminar of mediation skills for employees of media sphere.
There is a lack of awareness of the population about the mediation process.
Strengthening the role of the media in the coverage of situations permitted by mediation.
Mediation journalism should work to take preventive measures (should be focused on conflict prevention).
The love of their country – a major activity factor of the journalist. The goal of any journalist is peace and harmony.

At the panel discussion:

“The influence of the blog-sphere and social networks on a culture formation of peace in society”.

Find a balance between freedom of speech and responsibility.
To consider blogging as a tool of creating own professional environment. 
It is important to consolidate the society on the highest ethical principles that form the social immunity against destructive content.
The Assembly is the ideal platform for the accumulation of social networks. 

As the result, the forum made the following proposals:
1.     Creation of international platform of journalistic society, for example: Journalists’ Club of Experts of the Assembly of people of Kazakhstan.
2.     Cycling the Embassy of Kazakhstan abroad and representative offices of foreign countries in the Republic of Kazakhstan. This is for promotion of Kazakhstan’s experience in interethnic relations (together with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan).
3.     To hold meetings with foreign media accredited in Kazakhstan, by reviewing the issues in the sphere of interethnic relations and patterns of ethnic policy with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan.
4.     To realize the potential information support of ethnic policy issues together with the international platform of the Central Asian scientific and export council (operational since 2012) .  
5.     Maximum use of the portals of leading research agencies and news agencies to post information on ethic policy and Kazakhstan’s model of social cohesion and national unity.
