In the sports complex "Mangystau Arena" on December 9 the eighth open republican tournament in freestyle wrestling started. The competition is dedicated to the memory of one of the founders of free-style wrestling in our region, Honored Coach of the Republic of Kazakhstan - Magomed Rasulov.

The organizer of the tournament was the cultural center of the peoples of Dagestan.

In the competition, in addition to athletes from the Mangistau region, wrestlers from Atyrau, Aktobe, West Kazakhstan, Zhambyl regions take part. In addition, athletes from Dagestan, Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan came to compete with Kazakhstani wrestlers.

More than 400 sportsmen take part in the tournament.

- On the first day, the best wrestlers among the 170 athletes of the year 2000-2002 will be identified. On Sunday, December 10, more than 200 athletes from 2003-2005 and 2005-2007 will be born on the wrestling carpet, as well as girls, among whom prize places for women's wrestling will be played, - said the Honored Coach of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the head of SCYSOR of Aktau city fight Magomed Kurugliev.

According to Magomed Kurugliev, the purpose of the tournament, first of all, is to popularize the free-style wrestling among the people of Mangistau region.

- Competitions of this level - this is the first big start for many young athletes. It is here that they can gain experience, feel the atmosphere of these competitions. For many of them - is to compare the Olympic Games.
