On the last Sunday in the concert hall of the Palace of Youth the eleventh festival of Russian and Slavic culture "Pokrovsky Chime" was held. Once again, Petropavlovsk and its inhabitants were lit up by the bright faces of this national creative holiday. Again an amazing chime sounded from the stage voices and melodies pouring from the depths of the exultant Slavic soul.

Regional festival of Russian culture "Pokrovsky Chime" is a unique creative experience of our region in the cultural space of Kazakhstan. For the years of its existence the festival has become a powerful stimulus for the development of folk art, an integral part of cultural life, the revival of spirituality and the formation of moral orientations of the inhabitants of the North-Kazakhstan region.

The festival has been held since 2006 and today is the largest and most massive project in the field of regional culture.

Before the beginning of the concert program an exhibition of arts and crafts, as well as paintings by local artist Polyakov I.B.

The event was attended by such famous local collectives as the dance theater "Ekspromt", the exemplary Cossack Vocal and Dance Ensemble "Zvonnica-Nasledie", the ensemble of the Cossack song "Stanica", the People's Choir of Russian and Cossack songs "Zvonnica", the ensemble of Russian folk instruments " Zadorinka », as well as the Orthodox summary choir of the Petropavlovsk-Bulaevskaya diocese, the choir of the Cathedral of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul, the bishop's choir of the Cathedral of the Ascension of the Lord.

In addition, in order to strengthen interstate diplomatic and cultural ties, the guests from the border regions of the Russian Federation - the Kurgan and Tyumen regions - took part in the festival. The delegation from Tyumen arrived the day before the festival and had time to visit the sights of the city of Petropavlovsk. Guests came not with empty hands, every year National and cultural autonomy of Kazakhs of the Tyumen region gives the regional assembly gifts in the form of stage costumes for creative ensembles. President of the National and Cultural Autonomy of the Kazakhs of the Tyumen Region Esengali Ibrayev and the chairman of the regional public organization "Society of Russian Culture" Tamara Trunilova congratulated the Petropavlivtsi on the Feast of the Intercession, thanked for the warm welcome and presented their gifts.

The concert of Russian and Slavic culture gathered a full audience hall, chairmen of ethno-cultural associations of the North Kazakhstan Regional Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan - regular guests of the annual festival.

At the end of the enchanting festival, the chairman of the coordination council, the supreme ataman, the Cossack general - Yury Filipovich Zakharov, the bishop of the Petropavlovsk-Bulaevsky diocese Vladimir, the head of the secretariat of the North Kazakhstan regional assembly of the people of Kazakhstan - Salimov Nail Kamilyevich awarded all participants with certificates of honor and prizes, thanking for the valuable contribution contributed to the development of Russian and Cossack culture.

It is gratifying that the number of participants grows from year to year, children, teenagers and youth participate in the festival. And this is a guarantee that the festival has a future, that the origins of folk culture are joined by generations who entered the XXI century. They will transfer the original Slavic traditions and cultural memory to the new century.
