In celebration of the 80th anniversary of the North-Kazakhstan region and the 25th anniversary of Independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan meeting for writers of North Kazakhstan Region was held in Petropavlovsk.

The purpose of the event was to get to know literary men of the NKR, to raise Kazakhstan patriotism through love and respect of the authors’ writings.

Members of the APK, government representatives, ethnic and cultural associations and the media, attended the event.

The event started at the Local History museum. During the gathering poets have been reading their poems in Russian and Kazakh languages, made a presentation of their books.

At 12:00 there was a meeting in the conference hall of the Republican House of Friendship. Gulbakhsha Musabaeva, the chairwoman of the Kazakh cultural and educational center «Urpaq», opened the meeting. Zharasbay Suleimenov, the head of the Union of Writers of NKR and one of the participants of the meeting, shared his own writing experience and congratulated those present on the occasion.

In the framework of a meeting, there was a gala concert with participation of young akyns. In addition, an excursion for visitors to classrooms of APK ethno cultural associations has been organized.

At the end of the event all the participants of the meeting were awarded with letters of thanks.
