Regional headquarters of "Zhangyru Zholy" Republican Youth Movement with the support of APK’s Secretariat of Aktobe region and "Kogamdyk Kelisim" MPI held traditional regional intellectual tournament "Brain-ring" "City on a white hill" on the historical local history, dedicated to the 150th anniversary of Aktobe.

The tournament was held among the youth of the APK and students of technical and vocational education institutions of Aktobe region.

In particular, young people from 5 ethno-cultural associations and students from 21 colleges, including 3 district colleges, took an active part in the tournament.

The game was held in 2 leagues: Kazakh and Russian. Questions have been made on historical study of local lore of region, history and traditions of the people of Kazakhstan, ethnography and geography.

According to the information of organizers of competition the given intellectual tournament pursues the purpose to form at youth sense of the Kazakhstan patriotism, to bring up at rising generation love, respect, tolerance to cultures, the historical past and heritage of the peoples occupying Kazakhstan, to activate at youth cognitive interest to historical study of local lore, to stimulate to the further self-education, to propagandize values in system of spiritual and moral education of youth.
