September 26, 2017 in the House of Friendship the meeting of the Council of aksakals was held jointly with the Council of Mothers and Mediators of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan of Zhambyl oblast "On the Prevention of Conflict Situations on Interethnic Ground". The purpose of this event is to strengthen the unity and spiritual community of the multinational people of Kazakhstan, consolidate efforts to preserve the interethnic peace, and strengthen public consensus.

The meeting was opened by the Chairman of the Council of Elders Rahmijan Janabaev. In his speech, he briefly described the achievements of Kazakhstan in the field of interethnic harmony and tolerance. However, he noted that despite successes, there are gaps in society.

- Let's remember, for example, the village Buryl. To a greater or lesser extent, the functions to prevent inter-ethnic tensions at the local level lie at several institutions: the ANC institutions of the region are public consent councils, KGU "Kogmadyk kelisim" in the regions, ethno-cultural associations, Aksakal and Mother Councils, mediation cabinet at Friendship Homes, Akimats , departments of internal policy, law enforcement agencies. In this regard, it is promising to strengthen the role of the Aksakal Council and the Council of Mothers as important dialogue platforms, "he said emphasizing the important role of the Assembly's institutions.

And the mediator of ANC, the manager on work with mediators Valentina Dosybieva held a presentation on the theme "Interethnic mediation". With the help of slides, she demonstrated the main types, forms, causes and prerequisites of interethnic conflicts, as well as ways to resolve conflict situations on interethnic grounds.

After the training process, the participants of the meeting discussed this topic.

"Since our Councils have functions to prevent inter-ethnic tensions at the local level, it is necessary to include talks with young people in the plans of the work of the Soviets in the format of an interactive platform on issues of interethnic disputes," suggested the member of the Mothers Council, Lyudmila Chekalina, as a result. "In most cases, young people are participants in the clashes, so it is necessary to instill in youth, at conversations with it, dialogue with young people respect for the culture, traditions and way of life of another people, another nation."
